Vancouver's The Centre becomes Qmunity.
Qmunity celebrates our diversity and reflects our belief that everyone has voice and a say in how our community evolves and grows. Qmunity wants to make sure we evolve and change to meet the needs of our members. The new name is the first of many changes to create a vibrant and relevant queer community centre.
One of the glowing features of the new Qmunity website is the Qmunity Calendar. Members will also be able to sign up for a monthly e-newsletter call Qmunity News that will provide information about events and issues in the Qmunity. Qmunity News will launch later this year. “Changes have been evolving for some time,” says Executive Director, Jennifer Breakspear. “While we’re still looking for a bigger, more accessible space, we’re really excited to reveal our new brand and website, which have been in development for last two years.” Qmunity website is now up and running and we encourage you to check it out at www.qmunity.ca. Join the Qmunity, become a member, and let’s grow together! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Qmunity programs and services contribute to personal growth, health, well being and community connections for queer individuals, families and friends providing a broad range of local, regional and provincial resources. Qmunity touches the lives of more than 30,000 individuals every year, through the Gab Youth Services Program; Education and Outreach within the queer communities and with health and social service sectors; the Queer Generations Project for aging and older queer people; the Prideline Information and Referral line; Anti-Violence resources, Coming Out and Social Support Groups, Counselling, Meeting Space, Out on the Shelves Library; skill development and volunteerism; and a host of other resources that celebrate, enhance and support queer identities and culture and build on the strengths of individuals and communities.
